REISSUE PRESS USA Guru's Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1 is a jazz rap album from Guru, one half of the duo, Gang Star. This album is one of the first albums to combine a live jazz band with hip hop production and rapping. Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1 brought together a diverse group of jazz cats both old-school and new, including Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Lonnie Liston Smith, Ronny Jordan, and Courtney Pine. The album also features vocal collaborations with Carleen Anderson, N'Dea Davenport (of the Brand New Heavies) Dee C Lee and French rapper MC Solaar. The variety of guest artists adds diversity and originality to each track, and gives the album a distinct jazz feel. Continuing with it's Respect The Classics campaign, UMe reissues this classic album back on standard weigh vinyl.

Dopo aver dominato il 2023 con due album congiunti di due dei più grandi produttori hip-hop, The Alchemist (The Great Escape) e Cardo (The Night Shift), Larry June torna con il suo primo full lenght del 2024, Doing It For Me. Tornando alle radici, a ciò che lo ha reso il tipo di uomo che è oggi e alla formula che inizialmente gli ha portato il successo, l'album non contiene caratteristiche e si concentra su Larry che fa le cose a modo suo, per se stesso. Dall'illuminare gli ascoltatori su come muoversi come un capo e vivere uno stile di vita sano, al mostrare ciò che il suo duro lavoro ha portato, i fan saranno sicuramente in grado di immergersi in qualche gioco su come migliorare la propria situazione. L'album di 15 tracce presenta la produzione di Jake One, DJ Khalil, Harry Fraud, Cardo, Cookin' Soul, Teeko e altri. I singoli includono "Imported Couches", "Meet Me In Napa", "Dreams" e "Like A Mack". Se c'è una cosa che sappiamo finora dello zio Larry, è la coerenza.
