Hiroshi Sato's ultra rare synth masterpiece, originally released in 1979 on Kitty Records in Japan only. Digitally remastered from the original tapes, Orient features the cream of Japanese musicians including Shigeru Suzuki on guitar, Haruomi Hosono on bass, Pecker on Percussion and Sato himself on keyboards and synthesizers. This highly sought-after album on the Balearic scene, changing hands for high prices, is a superb breezy mix of Japanese synth-pop and exotica with subtle touches of mid 70s Herbie Hancock-style funk and AOR.

Limited Edition 7″ – 400 copies
A1 – Badabadaba
B1 – Incontro
This is the first official issue of the soundtrack from Umberto Lenzi’s cult film UN POSTO IDEALE PER UCCIDERE (also known abroad as OASIS OF FEAR and DIRTY PICTURES). Despite being one of the rare instances in which Italian singer-songwriter Bruno Lauzi wrote for film, this stunning work really hits the mark.
The 7-inch features an extended, previously unreleased edit of the super cool ‘Babadaba’, a contagious samba-jazz cut sung by Lauzi himself along with an unknown female singer – a track that will set your dance floor on fire.
On the flip side you’ve got ‘Incontro’, a groovy, jazzy, downtempo track with a fantastic leading flute melody.
Limited edition, 400 copies

A: Made You Look / B: Made You Look (Instrumental without guns)
Nas has had a career of generally consistent excellence, punctuated with a few lulls. He’s an incredibly skilled rapper sometimes accused of having a tin ear when it comes to choosing beats – especially on albums (and the entirety of ‘Illmatic’ aside, obviously).
‘Made You Look’ was a shot in the arm for Nas at a time when he’d shed some of his core, street fanbase. After the unfocussed ‘Nastradamus’ and ‘I Am…’ albums he’d had a return to some kind of form with ‘Stillmatic’, but many felt he came off second best in the ensuing battle with Jay-Z.
This single, a club and street classic almost from the moment it dropped, is exactly what he needed to reconnect with his fans and to show he could still throw down. Lyrically, it’s hardcore bragging 101, delivered with panache and numerous quotables that themselves would go on to be sampled.
Key to it all, however, is that beat. Salaam Remi was no stranger to resurrections, having almost single-handedly turned The Fugees from forgettable also-rans to major-players. The beat here is deceptively simple, one of hundreds of records to chop up Incredible Bongo Band’s ‘Apache’ but doing so in a way that felt instantly fresh. Nearly 20 years later it still has the power to get a stationary crowd moving, an empty dancefloor to fill, a still head to nod.
This original version has never been on 7” before. It’s presented with full artwork

A: I Ain’t No Joke / B: Eric B. Is On The Cut
Craft a record iconic enough and, no matter what you’ve sampled to make it, you’re destined to be sampled more yourself.
It helps if you’ve got Rakim’s voice, of course. When he and Eric B went into Power Play Studios in New York in 1987 to record ‘I Ain’t No Joke’, their next move was highly anticipated due to the critical success of the duo’s first record, ‘Eric B. Is President’. Rakim was already seen as a masterful MC with a distinctive slow, baritone flow and seamless access to a rich vein of words not often heard in hip-hop.
People’s first exposure to this track was on the landmark ‘Paid in Full’ album, and it was clear this had the potential to jump off as a single. The repetitive, simply scratched sample of ‘Pass the Peas’ by the JB’s was an infectious ear worm that needed a truly strong MC to stand up to it. He did more than that – here Rakim spun timeless lyrics and lines that would go on to be sampled and referred to dozens of times down through hip-hop history. He took one of rap’s great instrumentals and wrestled it to the floor.
Of course, you can’t have Eric B & Rakim without Eric B. The DJ gets his time to shine on the flip, and while he isn’t a man renowned for his dexterity and turntablist skills, the track still knocks. Maybe it’s because Eric B has already realised what many would come to work out later: If you haven’t got Rakim on your record, at least scratch his vocals. This re-release comes with a brand new cover utilising some of Dan Lish’s trademark artwork

SIDE A – Telecinesi (full)
SIDE B – Telecinesi (drums)
Connected to the Occulto LP, this 7-inch single by Sorgini features two alternative versions of ‘Telecinesi’ (Telekinesis), a dark, nocturnal tune with a supernatural, macabre flavour, fuelled by solid drum breaks, percussions and restless synths harmonies.
On the flip side you’ve got a drums and synths only version, which sounds even more spectral and abstract than the original mix. Ideal for beatmakers looking for the perfect sample.
Limited Edition, 400 copies.
