Ristampa/ristampa del 2024 - Doppio vinile nero in edizione standard. The Diggin' in the Crates Crew, comunemente abbreviato in D.I.T.C., è un collettivo hip hop di New York City. È stata fondata da Diamond D e Showbiz e il suo nome deriva dall'arte di cercare dischi da campionare per la produzione. I membri hanno ottenuto un riconoscimento sostanziale e coerente nell'industria musicale e nei circoli hip hop. Hanno collaborato con artisti underground e commerciali di tutto il mondo. Tutti i membri provengono dal Bronx, ad eccezione del defunto Big L di Harlem e di O.C. da Brooklyn. D.I.T.C., "The Official" Version è una versione alternativa dell'album omonimo di D.I.T.C. che non era ufficialmente disponibile su vinile al momento della sua uscita iniziale tramite Tommy Boy quando divenne evidente che il gruppo manteneva i diritti su vinile dell'album. La versione ufficiale ha un elenco di tracce diverso con molte canzoni che sono versioni totalmente diverse da quelle presenti nel primo album e anche 2 tracce che non erano su D.I.T.C. affatto - "All Love" e "We Known For That" (che in realtà è un remix del singolo 12" "Internationally Known"). L'album è prodotto esecutivamente da Show e ripubblicato su D.I.T.C. Records con distribuzione da Fat Beats Distribuzione -20 anni dopo la sua iniziale tiratura limitata. Molte delle canzoni appaiono in forme remixate che dovevano ancora essere pubblicate, alcuni remix e alcune versioni originali. I punti salienti includono "Where Ya At"; la collaborazione Big Pun/Milano ma qui, invece, è impostato su uno strepitoso remix di DJ Premier. Allo stesso modo, "Way Of Life" presenta un ritmo Buckwild completamente diverso, che in realtà è la versione originale del brano, che è in netto contrasto con l'inno di B-Boy ascoltato nell'album Tommy Boy.

"Black Bombay" è il nuovo album della Foga Klan É fuori "Black Bombay", il nuovo album di Rus 165 & Jama membri della crew hip hop torinese Foga Klan e del collettivo Riparia 72. L'album è caratterizzato da atmosfere orientali e tematiche hardcore in un metaforico "viaggio senza ritorno verso Katmandu", per citare la title-track. Le produzioni sono a cura di Jama e spaziano da suoni classici a beat più moderni e sperimentali, con una grande varietà nei campionamenti. Il progetto include la partecipazione al microfono di Skarto, Sab Sista, Bigga e Shaki. Black Bombay è stato mixato da Dj Matter (Riparia 72) e masterizzato da DJ Argento al Silverroom Studio.

When it comes to authentic, ride-or-die hip-hop, few crews have as much resonance as Mobb Deep. Featuring two double-threat MCs who also produced - Havoc and the sadly-departed Prodigy - the crew changed the hardcore rap game in 1995 with their sophomore classic The Infamous, and went on to rule the dark corners of hip-hop for the second half of the 90s and well into the 2000s. After multiple Mobb Deep platters in the '90s, Prodigy entered the 2000s as a solo artist with force, rolling over a stomping, piano-freaked backdrop laced by producer The Alchemist, with "Keep It Thoro." It has held up over time, proving itself as an anthemic classic that the streets and clubs still respect. Flaunting a smooth-but-menacing flow, Prodigy's no-nonsense lyricism on "Keep It Thoro" is prototypical modern age brag rap. Countless MCs have followed his flow, from Fabolous to Joey Bada$$. The song is short and sweet, clocking in at just over 3 minutes. There are no wasted verses, just hardcore rhymes that stay with you. But "Thoro" was the tip of the iceberg on what proved to be one of the more coveted rap full-lengths of the era. The album boasted other charting singles, including "Rock Dat Shit" and "Y.B.E." (featuring B.G.), but it can be argued that the album's real gems are buried deeper. "Genesis," "What U Rep" (featuring Noreaga) and "Three" are all sinister yet pensive. "Wanna Be Thugs" and "Delt With The Bullshit" are strong and evocative Mobb Deep cuts, featuring production and vocals by Havoc. And alongside other standouts, perhaps the deepest cut of all - especially in light of Prodigy's recent and way-too-soon passing due to complications from Sickle Cell Anemia - is "You Can Never Feel My Pain," which details the health issues and challenges this talented MC and producer had been facing his whole life. H.N.I.C. was Prodigy's first solo album, but it is perhaps his best. Among fans he will never be forgotten, for his skills, his storytelling and his no-B.S. approach to the art of MCing.
